    The Experience

Swimming with dolphins is a really exciting experience, this is not to be doubted.

But during your holidays in the Azores, you also want to visit the so-known beautiful landscapes that every one is talking about. Lagoa do Fogo is one of them, for sure.

This lake of crystal clear water inside a green volcano crater is simply breathtaking. All the travelers are absolutely loving this place.

    • Harbor of Ponta Delgada

      – This great adventure starts at the Marina of Ponta Delgada, in our shop. Our staff will welcome you for the check-in.

    • Before heading to the Atlantic

      – Before hopping on the boat, our team of marine biologists will explain everything you need to know for this experience. They will tell you how to get into the water and how to interact with the dolphins. And of course, how to use the snorkel and the mask. Those are important information to take the most out of this experience.

      – After the briefing, you will be guided to a zodiac boat. These small and fast boats are perfect to reach the animals easily.

    • Out in the sea

      – During the tour, you might swim with different dolphin species. Among them: Bottlenose dolphins, Common dolphins, Risso’s dolphins, Striped dolphins or Atlantic spotted dolphins. Some of them might be curious and get closer, others will be shy and keep a distance.

      – Unlike in other destinations around the world, we do not allow to touch the dolphins. This is because we want to keep them wild and relaxed about human interaction. The tour will be operated on our zodiac boat with a maximum of 8 participants aboard.

      – Also, there will be only two persons in the water at a time to be sure not to scare the dolphins away and respect them.

    • Lunch at a Local Restaurant

      – Experience some of the most delicious traditional dishes the Azores has to offer. We will have lunch at one of the local restaurants on the island.

    • On the way to Lagoa do Fogo

      – At the end of the meal, you will be ready to continue this adventure in a jeep! We will head to the nature reserve of Lagoa do Fogo, one of the most astonishing lakes of São Miguel.

    • Pico da Barrosa

      – We will stop at several key points to enjoy the views and breathe in the nature surrounding the lake. One of them is the viewpoint of Pico da Barrosa over Lagoa do Fogo.

      – Contemplate the grandiosity of this sleeping volcano, formed more than 15,000 years ago.

    • Caldeira Velha

      – To make this experience really fulfilling, we will visit Caldeira Velha. There, you will find a beautiful waterfall where you can bathe in with hot thermal waters that are around 25ºC. There are other pools that can reach higher temperatures.

      – Take your time to enjoy this magical natural monument.

    • Salto do Cabrito

      – To end this tour in the best way, we will see a wild waterfall called Salto do Cabrito with its little pond of clear waters. A must-do while in São Miguel!

      – Take your time to contemplate the magnificent waterfall in Salto do Cabrito, which is about 50m high.
