Whale and dolphin watching + jeep safari to Lagoa do Fogo - full day

Description

The Azores are one of the best spots in the world for whale watching. In addition to our four resident species (sperm whales, Risso’s dolphins, common dolphins, and bottlenose dolphins), the migrating baleen whales pass through our waters. Thus, during the springtime - which is the best season for whale watching in the Azores archipelago - it is possible to observe some of the biggest animals in the world such as blue whales, fin whales, and Sei whales.

The offshore adventure will start in Ponta Delgada harbor where you will check in before having a quick briefing with our marine biologists. They will give you important information and details about whale watching in the Azores and the species you might see.

After the whale watching trip, we will have lunch is in a local restaurant offering local products, so that you will taste Azorean specialties. Once we are done with lunch, here we go on our jeep adventure. This wonderful tour combines different routes in both highlands and flatlands, taking you to the amazing natural reserve of Lagoa do Fogo to enjoy nature at its best. The astonishing views from the top of the crater’s rim are a must to photograph! Fogo Lake is one of the most untouched landscape around São Miguel island, it is definitely a must-see while on holiday in the Azores. From the top of the mountain, you will be able to see both the North and South coast of the island. We will then drive you to Caldeira Velha, a warm iron-rich waterfall where you can go for a dip to experience its warm waters and relax surrounded by an incredible environment.
