To end a perfect day in São Miguel island, there is nothing better than a beautiful sunset. Futurismo offers relaxing boat trips to observe the sunset on the ocean and capture the famous golden hour on your photos. Join us in our shop at Ponta Delgada harbor at 6:00 pm and get aboard one of our catamarans. We will navigate along the South coast of the island to get the best views over the coastal landscapes. We will leave Ponta Delgada and pass by the airport zone, then Rocha da Relva, going Westward.
Onboard, you will have the opportunity to taste the local Azorean wine from Pico island and some of the archipelago’s cheese. Did you know that Pico’s vineyards are classified as UNESCO Patrimony since 2004? Its unique wine is a must among the local culinary specialties. Pico has a thriving wine culture. The island has been producing wine since the 15th century, about 10 years after the first settlers came, around the year 1439. Despite the strong volcanic pattern of the island, the vintners perfectly adapted to the landscape to launch their own wine. It is a truly unique terroir you have to taste during your stay in the archipelago.
Azorean cheese is also a delight. In the “islands of the happy cows”, 50% of Portugal’s cheese is produced even though the archipelago only makes up 3% of the national territory.

Q: Is this an adventure trip?
A: This is a relaxing trip to enjoy the sunset and the views along the beautiful South Coast of São Miguel Island.
Q: What if I am seasick?
A: We advise to avoid eating anything overly spicy, acidic, fatty or dairy before the boat trip. Don’t overeat but come well fed. Once on the boat, look at the horizon and get fresh air. If you feel bad, the staff on the boat will help you.
Q: Will we see whales during this tour?
A: This is not a whale watching tour. We will navigate along the coast and not go far away offshore. However, we never know what can happen when you are on the sea. It is possible to spot some dolphins as they stay close to the shore, even if this is not the purpose of the tour.
Q: Will we have dinner on the boat?
A: During the boat trip, you will be able to taste local specialties, but this is not a dinner, you might need to eat after the trip to your hotel or in a restaurant.
